Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information.
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who we are
Specialist Performance Cars Ltd (company number 14831130) is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Our address is First Floor, 74-78 Marsh Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU3 2NJ. For any privacy question, contact us at sales@specialistperformancecars.co.uk or on 01582 363276.
2. The information we collect
When you send an enquiry (contact form or a vehicle page): your name, email address, phone number and postcode if you give them, your message, the vehicle you asked about, and the IP address the enquiry was sent from (to help us block spam).
When you apply for finance: your title, name, date of birth, email address, mobile number, home address and postcode, time at your address, residential and marital status, whether you hold a UK passport, your driving licence type, your employment status, employer, job title, time in employment, monthly income and the vehicle you are interested in.
When you buy a vehicle from us: the details needed for the sale and invoice, such as your name, address, phone number, delivery details and payment information.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, bank card details through this website.
3. How we use your information and why
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange viewings, test drives or part-exchange valuations — because you asked us to (taking steps before a contract) and our legitimate interest in responding to customers.
- To process a finance application and discuss finance options with you — because you asked us to, as a step before entering into a contract.
- To complete a vehicle sale, prepare invoices and transfer the vehicle to you, including notifying the DVLA of the new keeper — to perform our contract with you and to meet our legal obligations.
- To keep accounting and tax records — to meet our legal obligations.
- To protect our website from spam and misuse — our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not send you marketing unless you have asked us to.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it where necessary:
- with finance lenders, if you ask us to help you arrange finance;
- with the DVLA, when we record the change of keeper after a sale;
- with the companies that host our website and email, who process it on our behalf and under our instructions;
- with the police, HMRC or other authorities where the law requires it.
Our vehicle listings are supplied by Autotrader. No personal information from our website is sent to Autotrader.
5. Where it is stored and how it is protected
Enquiries and finance applications are stored securely on our website’s server in the UK/EEA and sent to our sales email inbox. Only authorised staff with a password-protected admin login can view them, and the website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and finance applications for up to 24 months, then delete them, unless you buy a vehicle from us. Sales records and invoices are kept for 6 years after the end of the financial year of the sale, as required by tax law. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see section 8).
7. Cookies and third-party content
Our public website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our staff admin area uses one essential cookie to keep staff signed in.
Some pages show content from Google: the map on our home and contact pages (Google Maps) and the fonts used on the site (Google Fonts). When these load, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies. See Google’s privacy policy for details. Links to WhatsApp, Google Maps or Autotrader take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, or to restrict how we use it;
- object to us using your information for our legitimate interests;
- ask us to transfer information you gave us to another organisation.
To use any of these rights, email sales@specialistperformancecars.co.uk. We will reply within one month. There is no charge in most cases.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
